Re: Mail server for home use?

Paul,

I reckon you could probably do everything on your list just with Outlook
XP...

1) Use a .PST file stored on a shared drive, accessable to all required
client devices. Multiple clients can open the same PST file simultaneously.

2)Well, it's part of Office XP, so if you've already got that, then it's
"free"... :-)

3) Outlook XP now supports http mail servers (i.e. Hotmail)

4) No problem.

5) Outlook since version 2000 has a very good object model and programming
interface. I currently have a VB script which opens my calendar and reads
out my appointments for the day as part of may wake-up alarm routine...

HTH
