Indeed it is, especially for quick tests of circuits or for prototyping.

I managed to find a copy of this, but I'm not that impressed with it.
My main gripe is that it won't let me put components along the length of
the board, e.g. put a resistor "horizontally" in your figure, with a
hole cut under it to separate the two ends - something I often do in
stripboard layouts.

It's sometimes handy to put things at other angles as well, but the
program just doesn't seem to allow it.  Everything has to be lined up
"vertically" across the tracks :{

Do you know if there's any way to get the program to allow this kind of
layout, or even use it itself during design?  If it can't I think I'll
stick to doing layouts by hand.
