Fw: [ukha_multitainer] No AC3 sound ! - now Multitainer for sale !

Was playing from a drive.

Now, I bought this to play non MPG's (my DXR2 card has been used for that)
- and the fact I have some DIVX movies with AC3.

But I could never get tv out working from my tv card (asus 7700 with
capture), and no multichannel data streams from my sblive (no digital  out
- neither coax or optical). I bought an addon for my sblive from korea the
other week so i can grab stuff from the sky+ box, from the music channels.
It gives me optical and coax in and out.

I knocked my video card loopback out accidentally this morning,  from the
dxr2 to the video card out - and I had a brainwave. I tried it direct to
the monitor, and hey presto, the tv out options all appeared !

So now I can get tv out from my system upstairs (and it's much better
picture) and a digital link from the sblive to the amp (ac3 sound)

So now I dont need the multitainer. Any offers out there ? The DVD is now
region free !

Next question:

Is this playing a DIVX file from the HDD, or is it playing a
DIVX-compressed video stream written back to a 5" blank in exactly the
way a DVD would look (bar the codec!)

Yes - Im only getting PCM down the spdif. Playing a DVD works fine -
that
pushes a AC3 signal through fine. All the AC3 drivers I've tried have
the
spdif option greyed out.

I'm a bit confused when you say "I'm getting stereo out of the digital
port" but also say "no SP/DIF".

SP/DIF is the physical interface. You can potentially send PCM (Stereo),
DD (multi-channel) or DTS (multi-channel) down it.

Do you mean "I can only get PCM on the SP/DIF output"????

I have a DIVX with AC3 sound - this works fine on my main pc which has a
SBLive - and I can get AC3 out.

On the multitainer, I've used the intervideo/AC3 codec - but Im only
getting stereo out of the digital port - the option for SPDIF is blanked
out.

same with powerdvd - no option for spdif. Maybe the MT drivers arent
compliant ?
