Interesting thanks for that.... I'll pass it on

A friend of mine with a broken back swears by "Devils Claw"
available from
heath food shops. Although SWMBO has never tried it.

Yeah, the TENS machine does provide a great degree of relief.

My spine has a left-right deflection (not major enough to be visible,
unles=
s
you *know* what you are looking for) as well as the normal front-back
curve=
..
The best explanataion I have been given for it so far is that the ribs
don'=
t
quite connect as securely as normal, and from time to time, the area gets
bruised and the pain is incredible for a week or so at a time..

When it's sore, you get tense, and the TENS machine relieves that.

Another option which helps for me, is a small pillow filled with wheat
(Bod=
y
Shop sell them) which you microwave and it keeps it's heat for an hour or
so.. it molds to your shape rather than just being "warm", so
it's pretty
good too.

Ian.

Ian

Forgive me if I am preaching to the converted, but have you ever looked
int=
o
using a TENS machine?

"I have a spinal problem which means from time to time, I get episodes
of
blootering pain in my lower back, and bending down to get into the back of
the fridge is a real trial of endurance.. "how much do I *really* want
a
bacon sarnie....""

My wife suffers from Arthritis in her back, and she now uses a TENS machine
to control the pain rather than pain killers, as it has none of the side
effects of drugs. I think it was the best =A350 we ever spent!

Daniel
