I assume you cut off the receiver end and replaced with an RJ45 plug?
Do you have any problems of line interference?
So I would also need to make up a RJ45 to 3.5mm jack patch cable to
connect to the amp/patch panel at node 0.

If you want a cheaper alternative try the kit from Keen, I have a
receiver
feeding off to two transmitters via a distribution amp, these work a
treat
over 20 mtrs of CAT5. CPC sell the kit of amp, two TX, PSU and RX for
about
=A340.00 +VAT.
