You'll find these "lost connections" are due to the power saving
feature.
You can turn it off.

Manager {01}
.

Hi Guys,

Just been fiddling with my AP. It has once again lost connections
to the laptop with the PCCard in it, and I had to pull the plug on the
WAP11 to fix it :((

Anyway, I installed the Client Manager s/w for the Orinoco cards it
can't pick up the Access Point name - it just says "Unknown".

In the diagnostics it initially told me that it couldn't pick up the
name, as I may have the encryption wrong. So I repumped in the 4
keys generated by the WAP11 config tool, making sure I had
selected Hexadecimal.

This seems to fix as the diagnostic doesn't report this error, but the
Signal meter display (Site Monitor) still states there's no AP name
known. And occasionally on the diagnostics screen it'll report the
same error, before clearing it when I press Test Card Now.

Q: How do I get the Link Diagnostics item to light up? It did, *once*
but was reporting almost 100% packet loss, as no connection was
found.

Yours Confused,

Stuart[B]

PS - it's a PITA trying to get the latest LinkSys and Orinoco
drivers, the web site is just permanently busy. Humph.
