I thought about such, but I'm affraid that they will not give enough light.
Also, what kind of transformer is dimmable?
Can I just use the one that comes with these lights in a package.
 
Use more lights!  The wirewound transformers are dimmable (see LetsAutomate for further info) with triacs.  I also believe that Phil has an electronic one which works too.
 
You can buy the lights separately from Screwfix, but you may find that they come as part of a pack elsewhere.
