Well currently we have a kenwood mini system in the bedroom - BUT it has quite large speakers.

So really I'm looking for replacements for those, however, the 'agreed' budget is pretty low :-)

I'm not too bothered about sound quality in the bedroom, whereas I'm VERY interested in quality in the lounge
where we have the home cinema !!!!! (though this is still achieved on a pretty small budget - Monitor Audio Monitor 7s - JBL MR Centre - Canon wide dispersal rears - Yamaha A596 DD DTS amp - Cheap Yamaha sub bought second hand)

I know its a bit of a hybrid but its OK for now (and SWMBO can't tell the difference :-( )

One day I'll have enough spare money to do something better - after the bathrooms, the kitchen, double glazing .............
oh and we've just had central heating installed theres £5500 gone.............

Trouble is I know what I like, but I have other priorities :-)

Nick.

Depends on whether you want 'cheapest possible' or 'reasonable quality/value for money'

The Sonance speakers, IMO, are reasonably prices and sound quite good.  They disperse the sound quite well so the sound doesn't 'obviously' come from the ceiling.

They are way more expensive than the henry's ones you mention Nick, but not so bad as to break the bank.
Depends on your requirements really.
My SWMBO doesn't care about sound quality (hence she has a clock radio by the bed side and is resisting me installing ceiling speakers) but if yours does, then buying cheap 'n nasty (I'm not saying the henry's ones are nasty coz I haven't heard them, though they certainly are cheap!) will not earn brownie points, whereas installing reasonable/good quality will.

NB: This is _not_ the precursor to another 'discussion' on what constitutes value for money/affordability!!  :]

Quality is in the ears that hear I guess - DYOR!

Eminence (not sure if it's spelt right) did a "pure" range of car speakers
that were/are white.

I've been looking but not managed to find / source any yet.

Local Halfords and get a can of white spray paint while you're there...

Car audio speakers will do fine...
