I have the GJD Elites not sure if they are different to your Opals but I find them very good and they dont look too obtrusive.
 
They have a brown casing and head on are circular white obsured plastic.
 
They are quite pricey if I recall but very reliable and robust.
 
IMHO PIRs that are visible are a good deterent as well.

I need 3 or 4 external 12V PIR's (pref tamper protected) that work
well in sunlight etc. They've got to be dark brown or black and be
small as possible. I've got a GJD Opal (or something similar) but
it's too big and obtrusive (although I've not tried it out yet).

Any thoughts/suppliers in UK?
