Try Tools/ Internet Options/ Programs then down at the bottom, tick Internet Explorer should check to see wether it is the default browser.
 
That should then make it ask you if it should be default next time you start up.

I installed Sun Star office to read an excel file and now it has become my
default internet browser for windows 2000!!!
Help.
Anyone know how to change this back to IE? I have tried reinstalling IE and
it didn't ask to reset default browser.
