I have a program called "Beyond Compare" from
www.scootersoftware.com which
is used to syncronise files between directories/drives. It also has command
line switches so you can effectively schedule syncronisation.
It only copies files that are different so only changed files will be
copied
across the network reducing traffic and there is also an option to backup
before copy so if a file has become corrupted or you have cocked it up, the
previous version can be restored.
Works with Mapped drives or by specifying the UNC such as
//Backup/desktop/current
I would guess that the majority of us have more than one machine so backing
up to another machine is an easy solution.
