not sure if it will do exactly what you want but Ace has something close.....
 
"Forward data from an ACE Server serial port to an ACE Client serial port and vice-versa"

    Does anyone know of any software to allow an application on a local PC using a 'virtual' serial port to actually use a real serial port connected to another PC on a network i.e. rather like Slink-e Server does for CDJ ? Preferably working with W98 and W2K and transparent to the application - oh and of course low cost....
 
    Is this what Patricks LAN virtual serial connectors software will do when it's available ??
