What is the best (cheapest) way to have zoned IR for upto about 4 rooms?
Over cat 5.

I was thinking if the IR TX/RX unit could be located at the end of a length
of of a serial cable extended over cat 5, then I could use two instances of
girder to access two of these units via two serial ports and do different
things depending on which zone it came in on, then to add more zones, just
wack in some more serial cards and instances of girder?

OR maybe some other suggestions???

I need to know which zone a ir signal comes in on, when I am scripting if
you know what I mean.

Thanks.

Steve

PS lots of questions at once, think It mite be to much, but I am
retrofitting cat 5 at the moment, and need alot of answers!
