RE: Showshifter - minimum PC spec?

Mark

I am running SS on a PII 400 with 128Mb . It works fine for watching. = I
used to run it on a PIII 800 with 256Mb - This worked fine for watching AND=
timeshifting whereas the other did not like timeshifting.

Let us know your findings on the SS v. TIVO game

Cheers
Pedro

I have decided to follow a three-pronged approach:
1: Install showshifter, with Digiguide, and Digishift, IF MY PC IS GOOD
ENOUGH
2: Borrow a TiVo from a friend :-)
3: Continue my discussions with SonicBlue about an "early adopters=A0b= ulk buy"
for ReplayTVUK
I do NOT want to enter into any debate about whether this purchase strategy=
is sensible :-)
However, I would like an indication of whether the following equipment woul= d
be suitable for running Showshifter:
1: My existing server - a P2-300, with 128Mb RAM
2: A Viaboard, with an 800Mhz VIA chip
3: If neither of the above, an indication of the reasonable minimum spec? Results based on personal experience are infinitely preferable to results based on speculation :-)
