Yup, after only 4 (?) days of Tivo discourse here, I have bought one. = There
were none at all in DSG stores in London, apart from display models they wouldn't sell (and I wouldn't buy). Some in TCR of course, but at =A3299. Fortunately, although I avoid DSG whenever possible, my local Currys had one, were open when I got home, it was =A3229 and I got 6 months IFC on it.=
Hurrah!

So, thus far it is chugging away importing, indexing due in 25 mins.  = I had
loads of problems getting it to connect to the phone line - it wouldn't pla= y
ball (with dial detect off, eventually) via two extensions to where my Sky<= BR> box happily connects.  After much repluggery and ADSL angst, it finall= y
connected when direct in the master socket with an ADSL splitter in place,<= BR> and ADSl on an extension from the master was fine. I still have a trailing<= BR> Tivo phone lead going across the lounge for now, but it's all happy with ADSL working fine, as evidenced by this posting...and there's no SWMBO in permanent residence to moan about it :-)

So, given that it works happily with wires-only Pipex to a Solwise SAR703 router here, the Tivo-kills ADSL thing is unresolved, but in my favour
currently.  I did remember that adslguide ran a story about duff split= ters
>from ?
Although ADSL was solid throughout, the Tivo had none of it without a
splitter in place.

First impressions tomorrow.....I guess I'll have to wait for 2.5.5 to make = a
full judgement?

Jerome
