Hi all,

I currently have my ha pc using meteor to log/announce incoming/outgoing
calls (including displaying the name or number on the tivo screen), but want
to add some additional functionality.

Just wondering if anyone has got a recommendation for an external modem I
can use for the following scenarios:

a) Control of house
Want to be able to dial in on my mobile and have the ha pc answer the
incoming call and respond to subsequent key press(es). e.g. When I'm nearing
home I can advise the ha pc I am nearby so it can deactivate alarm, turn on
lights etc. My guess is any modem will do for this.

b) Control of house with tts responses
Same as above but I will program the ha pc with interactive tts responses so
I can follow a menu structure. e.g. press 1 for this, or 2 for that.

c) Call screening
Outside normal working hours pc would play a prerecorded message to
identified numbers flagged as work related etc etc

I'm guessing somekind of voice modem?
I don't want to use any off the shelf software pacakages though, will need
to write my own (probably vb).

Any recommendations?
Anyone do this stuff already?

Many thanks
Tony T
