I think you are trying to do two jobs with one sensor here, which is
why you haven't been successful.
Occupancy detection requires quick triggering and immunity to false
triggers isn't really a requirement.
Conversely security requirements are for high immunity to false
triggers, which with current technology implies longer trigger times.
I think there is a case to be made for using two independent sensors,
one for each task. There is no reason why these can't be installed in
the same housing. PIR sensors without any fresnel lens are super-
sensitive to movement, and very compact, making them ideal for
occupancy detection type applications. It's my intention to add this
type of detector to the security PIR housing - I have already
successfully modified one housing to include a camera, and am
confident that a high WAF triple mode sensor can be achieved without
too much of a headache.
