Ideally for the feed to a normal light switch (or the momentary switch
controlling an LD/AD10) you would use what is called twin red and earth
as both conductors are (or can be live). Failing this you should sheath
the black conductor (which is usually fed from the "switched" side of
the switch) at both the switch and ceiling rose ends with a red piece of
sheathing to indicate that it can be live. Most sparkies use T&E to feed
to light switches as it's a lot cheaper than twin red and earth.
