WM918 Weather Station query

I think my weather station is not operating correctly, can someone who
bought one recently confirm this by checking theirs.

The problem I have is that the daily rain amount does not seem to
increment
with each tip of the bucket, the total cumulative value goes up as
expected
but nothing on the daily amount.  Also pressing and holding the
clear
button on the cumulative rainfall screen i.e. total memory reset the
counter but on the daily one (memory) pressing clear doesn't do
anything.
Is this correct operation, it doesn't seem like it?  The manual says
it
should reset the value.
