Yep, saw this a while back. It does exactly what it says on the pack
and
most other receivers will do the same job in place of the Harrison (or
whatever) unit.
This is essentially the circuit Nigel Orr posted all that time ago but
the
receiver does not demodulate the signal so there is no need for the 555
in
order to remodulate it again.
He is also a little inaccurate in the statement that ALL IR remotes
operate
in the 38 to 44 KHz range. A better word would be MOST as owners of kit
using 56Khz or IRDA will testify.
I would think it has limited use in our world of multi zone intelligent
IR
devices.
I am back onto a design for a circuit board for my little IR project now
so
with luck something far more powerful might be round the corner (not to
mention IR return on KAT5).
