That's not my experience - I've got mono, summing stereo (stereo
feed into mono speaker - some electronics on board), combined stereo
in a single speaker and proper stereo ceiling speakers. The
physically separated stereo ceiling speakers sound A LOT better than
the mono or single speaker stereo units. Mind you, the single
speaker stereo (single bass/mid cone and two angled tweeters) sound
pretty good.
You do loose a lot when going to mono.
