Ha, in
most of the rooms ceiling is concrete. Only the halway has suspended
ceiling
through which I plan to put all the wires.
So,
it's not possible to mount them in the ceiling.
These
speakers will be mono, because I will use them for anouncements only, so
this is
all a bit too expensive for me.
If I
decide to go for a home audio, I'll probably use
KAT5.
Is
your speaker cable shielded, and does it cross any power
lines?
Does
it pick any noise?
Nik
That's a pretty small speaker
requirement then! How about putting them in the ceiling - I've got 7
sets
of ceiling speakers in various rooms. They sound great and look very
good
(probably less obvious than wall speakers). I went for a variety of
models
including:
Sonance GRM2 - Single stereo to mono summing speaker
(water
resistant) - for use in the bathroom £90 ish
Systemline QED -
Stereo pair for general areas £130 ish
Sonance 621 - Good quality
stereo pair for listening rooms £240 ish
Also used 79 stand OFC
cable
May be OTT for your requirements (whole lot cost over £1000 -
cheap compared to what you can easily spend). My system was primarily a
whole-house audio system with feeds for Comfort, ACE TTS
etc.
