Hi All,
One thing to realise with tcpdump, and ethereal, ensure that you've got
the latest releases, as previous versions have had security holes which
allow root compromise of the machine running them.
Other than that great tools.
Oh, one final thing as with any monitoring, ensure you've actually got the
authorisation to use it , and don't abuse it, the new DPA means this is
now significant.
