Re: OT - DVD writers
checkout www.vcdhelper.com and www.cdrinfo.com for lots of info.
everything I've ever read says that dvd-r is the most compatable
format.
I've NEVER seen anyone say the +r was more compatible.
-r disks are pretty cheap now depending what you buy.
The pioneer a04 is now around =A3300, and that's without looking to
hard.
I can't see one plus to +R/RW bar the fact they write slightly faster.

if it writes disks you can't read back I don't see it as advantage.
4 speed drives will arrive this year, as the components to drive them
are
appearing. That will bring down whole disk writing to 15mins.
