David,
Comfort can use wireless PIR, contact, and fire sensors so you don't
need to do a lot of wiring, perhaps just one wire for the
doorstation. See this page:

I bought Comfort last month and although it's taken me (a total
amateur) a couple of weeks to perfect the setup, it's amazing what
the system can do. The programability (ideally via a PC) is excellent
and nothing anything else I saw came close. Remote control is top
class, especially the ability to talk to people who ring your
doorbell when you're not at home! X10 and IR control is good. Your
imagination is your limit really.
