Re: Plumbing Question

Stuart,

If you have access to the stack then it can be as easy as getting a 32/40mm
saddle fitting which straps around the stack.  You fit this around the stack and
mark out the hole to be cut, then drill/cut and re-fit saddle.  Most saddles are
push fit in that they have a rubber seal which fits around new waste pipe.

Obvously you would want to the correct 'fall' so that the material in the stack
does not flow the wrong way you may also be able to put a non-return fitting
in-line with your new waste so that the waste water can only go one way.

Not too sure of building regs but believe me, this is an easy job to do.

Mark

Ok,

How easy / hard is it to have a connection made to the soil stack, basic
idea is this, in the corner of the living room is the soil stack for
half of the house ( it's clad ) about 2 foot away is the fish tank, I'd
like to automate water changes, but to do this I need to be able to
dispose of the waste water.

As I understand it adding to the stack isn't a job for the DIYer, as it
may need build approval.

Cheers

Stuart
