RE: Plumbing Question
Hi Stuart,
Although not a plumber, I have recently made
several connections
to a length of soil stack pipe. Nothing to do with waste water, but my
own designed pool heater.
Any way, I used boss clamps. All you need to
do is drill a hole
in the stack and then clean and using solvent cement stick the boss
over
the hole. You also then clamp it around the pipe.
This then provides you with a 40mm or 32mm push/solvent weld entry
point.
As for what you are trying to do I guess you would also need a
"trap" in
the pipe work going into the stack to stop bad air getting out.
Don't know if there are any special regs for it.
Regards,
Paul

Subject: [ukha_d] Plumbing Question
Ok,
How easy / hard is it to have a connection made to the soil stack,
basic
idea is this, in the corner of the living room is the soil stack for
half of the house ( it's clad ) about 2 foot away is the fish tank, I'd
like to automate water changes, but to do this I need to be able to
dispose of the waste water.
As I understand it adding to the stack isn't a job for the DIYer, as it
may need build approval.
Cheers
Stuart
