Peter - the European versions of the TW523
(aka PSC-05) were called
TW7223's and were later superseded by the XM10's. Theses XM10's send
data
slightly differently to the original 523's (some data is sent twice).
The
TW7223 would probably suffice. Let's Automate or Laser are likely
sources
although these 'obsolete' versions may not be listed online. HomeVision
didn't work with the new XM10's correctly without a ROM upgrade.
BUT I notice you are trying to get hold of
the 253's (sic) but
Kenneth in his post below said that his problem went away when he moved
from
the 253 to an XM10 which is contrary to your experience so I think a
little
more research may be needed into the problem.
I had a TX15-B here but I am not using it
currently, in fact I
haven't seen it for a while (have just moved house). At that time I used
it
with a TW7223 without I believe any problems. I'll have a rummage and see
if
I can find it and try it with both interfaces. If I remember rightly
there
are some dip switches that set the format in which the thermostat sends
its
status information using extended X10 - is it possible that these are
set
incorrectly ??
