I know this is an old topic..

 

But I spoke to someone @ this company yesterday – and they are selling 256mb’s for £26 + vat (so I was told)

 

I don’t work for them..so its not a plug.. just my thoughts on getting cheaper stuff:

 

www.insight.com - and then go to the UK.. and look for ram.

Some motherboards don't like 512Mb DIMMs. If I've interpreted your
sentence above correctly you're talking about sticking a 512Mb DIMM
in, in place of 2 x 256.

I remember looking on Crucial for some memory upgrades for my main
Home Server and when I selected the m/b type it didn't allow me to
select a 512Mb module. This was a board of some vintage however (3
years or so old).
