started out with dos 6.22 …and
wfwg … that was… oooh…in 1996 I think !? (fresh out of
school..)
Have
you seen a piece of software
called ‘mister house’ ??? – it’s written in perl.. and is uses a text to
speech engine ? – I was thinking of using this as a front-end to my HA
system
(a good friend of mine is going to write the web front end for it all..)

its free too ;o)))

me,
all the stories say the same thing:
Machines
set up once, left as servers, and never touched tend to carry on running
for
long periods.
Machines
used as "client PCs", with regular new downloads installed (only if just
controls within web pages), or with new "test" software tend to crash
regularly.
Note
the
complete absence of "on Windows", or "on Linux"... both have the same
characteristics as above :-)
