(Second attempt at posting this reply so if its duplicated I'm sorry)
If you want a short length of low profile (flattish) CAT5 cable,
suggest stripping the insulation off some UTP CAT5, then sandwiching
2 of the twisted pairs (thats all you'll need) between strips of
insulating tape, then laying under your carpet. Not very elegant but
cheap & easily done.
In your shoes I would personally want to check out whether you can
actually hear any difference between the KAT5 approach, and different
qualities of speaker cable before committing to one method or
another. If you want to borrow my pair of KAT5's for a couple of days
to check this out, please email me off list.
