I have also have super service (both from CS and from installation
staff) from NTL. I hada terrible picture from NTL for the month of May
after my box died. I had four visits and a complete reinstall before a
senior network engineer resolved the problem. 'Four visits!' you may cry but they were super and did exactly what I would have done. Replace all
the parts of the system starting with the most likely to fail first. I
had 2 new boxes and both failed to a degree after a week. The senior
tech installed a new box and propped it up on two video tapes (never
going to be used since I got TiVo!) to let the air flow. He said the
boxes run hot and can cope after a while hence 2 previous boxes failing
after a week or so. Everything has worked fine since and I have got free Cable Modem for a month! In my previous house BT had drilled a hole
through the wooden window frame and installed the BT master on the
window sill (for the previous owner). They wanted a =A3100 callout and =A35= 0
per hour to fix it, I told then to piss off. I then called it in as a
fault (noise on the line) and Engineer came out and said it was not a
fault, goodbye. All while the Double glazing guy had the window out of
the hole!!! I had to fix it all up myself! Customer service does not
exist in some places.
