Re: Flat Speaker Cable to under Carpet (Good Quality)

I want to go the KAT5 route as my long-term aim but I think flat cable is the going to be fine for my short-term aim. The closest i've found so far i= s
the Nordost Flatline Gold - but its f********* expensive 2m of the cable is=
like =A390.  I've got about 6m and a 7m run to do with flat cable.

Kind Regards,
Chris Bond

Chris,

I like the QED "flat" cable, but I think you're going the wrong w= ay about
this...

For the benefit of the rest of the group, I'll just list two other things I=
_know_ about your installation :-)

1: You're using a separate power amp for the rear channels.

2: You can't do a CAT5 install where you are.

I think you should run a single CAT5 cable and a pair of KAT5 units to send=
the signal front->back at line level, stick the power amp in between the=
rears, and use a short run of the IXOS cable you already own there.

Total cost: About =A3100

Does it work?

Well, I think it sounds great on mine :-)

Regards,

Mark

Hi,

Im after some good quality Flat Speaker cable that will go under the carpet= .
Ive just spent lots of money upgrading my sound system the weekend and as part of the deal I got a Dolby/DTS Processor and some rear speakers.  = SWMBO
went mad at me last night  when I put a thick IXOS cable under the car= pet as
it can be seen and fealt under there!  I dont mind paying up to around= =A3100
for the cable if its high quality.

Kind Regards,
Chris Bond
