Looks like NetGears tech support have told me wrongn information this
morning anyway!

I spoke with Fast24 this morning since then and the guy said that he had
an RT328 sitting next to him on the desk that he was using with the 14
digit phone number no problem...

....this is now two dealings with crap hardware support lines in two
weeks (My HP printer being the first where HP themselves didn't diagnose
what turned out to be a known and common problem) and NetGear today.

The Fast24 guy reckoned that it was more likely to be the 143 telco not
having set up the details for my dial in numbers correctly!
