RE: Dim to 0%
> Forgive the silly question, but
why do
you want to do this ? Can you not dim
to
0% and then send an off command ? or does
>dimming to 0%
change the why the light comes back on ?
I could Dim to Zero and then send the off command,
yes
it would work well when you dim lights to off, but as you point out
the
problem comes, (and hence my reasoning to do this) When you want
to
turn a light on in the middle of the
night...
If you have
sent
the command "Off" to the LM, next time you turn it on, to for example a 30%
preset dim, X10 sends the module the command "On" first and then Dim
to X%
- so the light comes on bright and then dims
down.
Whereas if it
has
been dimmed to 0% then when you send the command - dim to 30% it would then
slowly brighten to 30% brightness. Which is great if you want to turn a
light on
at night without waking your partner....
But the downside seems to be the very small amount
of
electricity wasted in the mean time.
Hope this
makes
sense.
Daniel
