Scott,

I'd send it back and ask for a new replacement. If local control is
stuffed, then there's a serious problem on the circuit board!

Subject: [ukha_d] LW10U Question

Hi.

At last I can ask a real HA related question!

Received an LW10U wall switch replacement unit today. It seems to
respond correctly to the X10 codes when controlled from an IR543, but
local control seems to work for about the first 2 or 3 minutes and then
just stops. Remote control still functions though.
The only way to get local control working again is to completely
disconnect it for 10 minutes or so. Upon reconnection, local control
will work for about 2 or 3 minutes again, then stop.

What's up ?

Scott.
