Just for your amusement a (suitably edited) copy of the mail I just sent to the local TS office.

There is an update on the situation on the DP-Now site though ;-)

Subject: Kodak Deal

Carolyn,

As per our conversation earlier please find attached copies of the e-mail sent for myself and the one on behalf of my uncle, the reason I did this for him and he did not do it himself is that he works away from home and I phoned him with the details, he gave me his credit card number and I simply entered the details on his behalf for the camera to come to this address. I have attached the mail from Kodak telling me that one of the orders is cancelled but I have yet to receive on for the other order although their website shows both orders as “removed”!

As far as I am concerned, according to the e-mail, this is a contract and the mail forms a receipt and, in my opinion, that is a deal done. What Kodak has done is, in effect, ripped up the deal just before the final processing because it doesn’t suit them and to me that is not an acceptable practice.

Details of the original link to the deal can be found at: http://www.dp-now.com/news/Jan2002/dpnnews129/dpnnews129.html

And the update on the story at: http://www.dp-now.com/news/Jan2002/dpnnews131/dpnnews131.html and the latest is at: http://www.dp-now.com/news/Jan2002/dpnnews134/dpnnews134.html this includes a statement from Trading Standards Consumer Advisor in London on the subject.

If you need any further info I can be reached on the following:

Work (9-5) – 01560 *****

Home – 01560 *****

Mobile – 07967 *******

Thanks for your efforts.

Best regards

Kenneth Watt
