You can get a ringing booster but do you actually NEED all the phones to
ring ?

If the switch is set to OFF then the REN of the phone usually doesnt count
as there isnt anything connected to the line.

Exceeding the REN doesnt really matter IF the line is working OK. If the
bells arent ringing properly or the line trips when an incoming call comes
in then you need to either

Buy a PBX
Get a ringing booster
Disconnect the bell wire (3) from some of your sockets where you dont want
the phone to ring.

Hoping our resident BT Doctor (aka "Keith") may be able to answer
this if no-one else knows.

I've exceeded my REN number for the phones in the house. Is there
such a thing as a booster so the REN of 4 is increased ?
