Stuart,
Two things, based on the assumption that Finland is within the EU (which
I haven't checked, but will take your word on :-)
1: There is a different set of rules for stuff you personally bring into
the country. (Ie - if you GO to Finland, then you pay sales tax there,
then pay NOTHING as you bring it in, in your handluggage.
2: The Customs and Excise helpine
http://www.hmce.gov.uk/contact/index.htm
is VERY good, and will talk you
through the process in plain English!

Ian,
Just checked, Finland is in the EU, I'm still fairly sure I shouldn't
have to pay both the 22% sales tax in Finland, and then 17.5% VAT in the
UK
