I usually have movies on DVD before they appear on TV, so no real interest
in them on TV
BBC are supposed to start xmitting AC3 this year & the others are bound
to
follow.
It was more for this than the movies that I was interested in AC3.
The direct digital stream recording too means no recompressing (TiVo style)
of compressed proggies, which will then be messed about with by the TV too
-
at that rate, I'd end up with 2 blocks of colour on screen, no matter what
the program :(

The tenner a month for life is the major offputter for me.

I'm gonna have to bit the bullet relatively soon though - about 6 months
after my dish was installed, we lost a few channels due, apparently, to SKY
changing them to a different transponder & the LNB I have being one of
a
batch of lesser specc'ed ones SKY used at one point.
So there's big demand for them to be replaced.
So I'm on the list.
But I don't watch these channels and don't chase it up.
It starts to happen to ITV too.
I chase.
I am now outside warranty period :-(
Can only be fixed via callout @ 47.50 + VAT initial charge + parts :-(((((
May as well pay 50 quid for Sky+ instead.

Have up to 6 months to make the switch, by which time house will be
decorated too much for me to run the extra cable between stud walls, under
floors etc....
