Re: Barcode scanners

Craig,

I didn't get any docs come with it at all (hence why I foolishly plugged it straight into my PC's serial port). However, a bit of web searching turned up PDF manuals for it... Just wish I'd looked first :-(

Ray, I purchased this model a couple of months back, when the link was originally posted to the group. I assummed it just connected in-line with the keyboard, but looking at the connectors this did not look right, so it is still sitting in a box somewhere. Do you have any docs with yours on how to connect to a PC?

Thought people might be interested to know that I came across a supplier of cheap barcode scanners... £20 for a second hand "guaranteed to work" unit.

I'd like to report how well they work, only I read the bit about it supporting TTL RS232 *after* I plugged it in to my PCs RS232 port? Anyone care to venture the odds on it still being alive? Oops..

Just don't plug them straight into a 12v serial port like I just did ;-)
