Eamon,
We have had one of these installed for
about 18 months now - we actually use it for stopping the cats getting
near a fairly busy road. We have been very pleased with it, although it
wasn't
exactly cheap. From memory it was about £600 which included two of the collars
and
all of the wire we needed. I dug the
wire about a foot down, you also need to replace
the
batteries about once a quarter on the collar.
I can't remember the name of the company we bought it from off
hand (can check this evening if you wish) although there service was
superb.
Mail me if you want any additional
info
Mark

electric dog restrainers.
Only one draw back with
the
electric fence.....Small, blond and two years
old, my daughter.... Still, it would put a
stop to
any thoughts of her
straying off to far (or chasing sheep for that
matter. Might come in use in
about 16 yrs time though!!!!
Again, I'm not too keen on the
idea
of these things, but the local
farmers are very good neighbours, and me
killing
their sheep, and they
shooting my dog is bound to sour relations..
I'd
appreciate some info on the
one Alan is going to see tomorrow. I have a
half
acre site, which I guess I
will need to completely enclose with this
thing.
Thanks
Eamon
