I dont have a DDR/Rio (yet), but my audiotron has the following advantages:

1. optical digital out - straight to AV amp
2. no server software required - just connects to windows/samba share
3. web interface builtin - can control from a web browser.

Also I have converted mine to run on 230v without transformer. The internal
transformer has two primary windings connected in parallel, if you connect
them in series you dont need the external step down, see
