Re: OT Server Hosting

The UKHA archive (http://www.ukha-archive.com) site
sits on just such a
server. Along with a few other things. I've now had it long enough and
itsd worked well enough that I am moving most of my web stuff to it.. I'm
an entirely happy customer of this service. See www.PowerRaq.com , another
name for UK2.

If you are happy and confident administering a box yourself, they are fine.
Just dont be too brave in terms of screwing it up! I have a RAQ2, and so
am
used to the funny non-standard stuff that is the RAQ version of red hat
Linux. If you need support, look elsewhere... The other best deal I know
about is www.mailbox.co.uk, who will co-host your server at their place for
very litttle money. But the bandwidth allowance is nothing like the
PowerRaq deal.

However, before comitting any dosh at all to UK2, I'd recommend looking
through the newsgroups, many people have extreme opinions and experiences
of
UK2. Do the research, make up your own mind.

Hi.

Does anyone have any experience or know of anyone with experience of
UK2.net's RAQ servers.

I've heard bad things in the past about them, but if you pre-pay for 3
years you get a whole RAQ-4 for ~£12 a month.

Cheers
