Ahhh yes, I had exactly the same problem with Active Sync and null=20
modem cables.

There seem to be numerous standards for null modem cables, and active=20
sync is very picky.

The one cable that I know DEFINATLY works is a belkin null modem=20
cable from (grimace) PC world.

Can't remember the model, but is was =A319.95 and had 9 and 25 pin=20
adpaters at each end.
