Re: Pronto batery life

Remove your rechargeable battery and adjust the contact pins to make a better contact with the battery.  Replace the rechargeable battery ensure the pins are in good contact with the battery.
Common fault with the Pronto.

I've got a Prnoto with the docking station & rechargeable battery. It doesn't seem to charge properly & will only charge for a couple of minutes before deciding it's fully charged. Then after a couple of hours of using it it tells me it's dead and needs charging again. Any ideas?

I one of the earlier pronto's and the batteries last about 6 months so two weeks does seem a bit short. And I have the backlight set to always on.

They do drain normal batteries quite quickly.
I have the recharging unit but to be honest, probably better of with decent rechargables - cheaper than the docking cradle if nothing else....

Contrast wise, you sure you''re not just accidentally moving the contrast wheel (happens to me all the time) ???

Wouldn't worry about rubbish (apart from it looking kack!) as the screens don't seem that sensitive a the edges...

Hi guys.

For Xmas, I got a 2MB Pronto, and have noticed one or two odd things.
* The AA's that came in the box only lasted about 2 weeks.  I did do
a lot of learning and screen programming so wasn't too worried.

* I replaced the batteries with 4 Duracells 2 weeks ago and the battery life
graphic in the setup screen shows its lost 2 bars of power.  Is this normal?

* The contrast/brightness starts off very dim when I start using it for the
first time in the evening, but by the end of the night I find myself having
to reduce the brightness.  Is this normal?

* Is it possible to get dust or rubbish stuck in the edges of the screen
which causes the screen to be continusly pressed?  Or don't touchscreens
work like that?

Thanks (Should I be asking the peeps at remotecentral)
