Oh dear you do have a problem.

I have found that you need to invlove them in the interface design so
they get something that like.

You were talking about a web interface, well with the tivonet card and
tivoweb you could get something good working

That's defeatist! Then I would have to give her the remote for the
Plasma, Amp etc as well.

Then she wins! Failure is not an option.
