Thanks for this, it still leaves the mystery in my mind of why Mr Gates
makes it nigh on impossible for someone to build a peer to peer network
using XP... or am I being synical?

I'll stick with NetBios for now though, as spending Christmas configuring
machines does not appeal :-)

Your choices are pretty much:

1) stay with NetBIOS - nice & simple

2) Use Active Directory & DDNS - very much less simple!

You pays yer money and you takes yer choice.... of course you only have the
choice if your "server" running Win2K is actually running win2K server, not
Win2K professional...
