Re: RFI filters for X10 interference

Mark,

It may be too late now (if you've thrown away the packaging) but using wire
wound transformers for low voltage lighting is more 'X10 friendly'.
Electronic lighting transformers kill X10 signals - by injecting
interference onto the mains and the RF and EMC filters in the transformer
suppressing X10 signals as well.

Not sure about using an X10 filter.  It would obviously depend on how you
are dimming your LV lighting.  If you're using a LD10/11 etc then it won't
work.  If you're using a standard dimmer then fitting the filter before the
dimmer may work.

Regards

Simon

9 dimmable 12volt lighting transformers without thinking of the
consequence - duh - No X10 signals work whilst the lights are on!.

the interference. I know X10 do a filter plug but would rather build
something in a box if possible or if not, is the X10 filter plug likely to
work?
