You may want to try the Euro Hostel, less than 20 quid, next to Main Line
station... I used it for two nights a few months ago, it meant we had more
money to spend in the Pub...

After checking with SWMBO (she used to book rooms for O2, in Glasgow and
other places), your best bets are (in the following order)

Hilton http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=GLAHITW
Langs http://www.langshotels.co.uk/
City Inn  http://www.cityinn.co.uk/glasgow/index.htm

The sales people who she was putting in hotels complained a lot, and
these were the most well thought of hotels with the least complaints :D

Hilton and Langs are in the city centre, City Inn is a little bit
further away and is beside the SECC and overlooks the Clyde.
